The Dr. David Bauman Leadership Legacy Fund was established through the generosity of Kathy Bauman to honor David’s deep love of Jewish life, music, community, and leadership. David was a beloved presence in the Jewish music world — playing bass guitar, singing, laughing, learning, and building connection with so many across the SLBC International Conference, URJ Biennials, and more. A brilliant cardiologist, he brought life and healing to people through his professional work, and he brought spirit, warmth, and joy to his community in Little Rock, Arkansas, and throughout the Jewish world. This fund carries David’s legacy forward by investing in emerging Jewish leaders who will bring inspiration, creativity, mentorship, and strength to communities for generations to come. Through scholarships and access to SLBC, the Bauman Fund ensures that David’s passion for music, Jewish life, and community-building continues to ripple outward through the lives and leadership of those he inspires.

The Angela Gold Music Scholarship Fund honors the memory of Angela Gold, a deeply beloved member of the SLBC community. Angela was one of those rare people whose presence made a room warmer, whose voice added beauty, and whose heart helped others feel seen and connected. Those who knew Angela, learned with her, sang with her, or harmonized with her remember her as part of the soul of the SLBC experience. This scholarship fund was created to carry Angela’s memory forward by helping others access powerful Jewish music experiences — the kind of experiences that build confidence, deepen identity, create lifelong relationships, and inspire people to lead. Through this fund, Angela’s love of Jewish music and community continues to open doors for others, ensuring that her memory remains a blessing in the voices and leadership of future SLBC participants.

The Maya Schulder Leadership Legacy Fund honors the life, light, and unforgettable spirit of Maya Schulder. Maya had a big voice and an even bigger personality. She was joyful, bubbly, authentic, compassionate, funny, and full of heart. She loved to sing and play guitar, and she often said she was “healing the world one song at a time.” For Maya, music was a form of Tikkun Olam — a way to bring people together, lift spirits, and make the world feel more whole. She found deep meaning through Jewish music, Jewish camp, synagogue life, and the communities that helped her grow into herself.

This fund honors Maya by helping future generations of Jewish teens and young adults experience that same sense of belonging, inspiration, creativity, and leadership development. Through scholarships to SLBC, Maya’s spirit continues to strengthen young leaders who will carry Jewish joy, music, courage, and connection into the future.
